Forex Blogs and the US Dollar

By Bart Icles

Foreign exchange trading has indeed earned its place in the finance world. More and more new investors are joining this trading arena as each day passes and they are all attracted by the constant challenge of a risks and rewards game. Of all the currencies involved in this market, the US dollar remains as a popular in many forex articles. It is not unusual for a currency trading newbie to come across a forex blog that follows the changing trend in the performance of a US dollar.

Although seasoned forex investors will advise against following a single currency, one cannot avoid following the US dollar. This currency remains as one of the most popular headlines of many forex journals, newsletters, and articles. There are still many people banking on currency pairs that involve the US dollar. Thus, it is no surprise that there are lots of investors who are on the lookout for what will happen next to this intriguing currency.

In the past year, the US dollar has been facing against currency giants as its value plays around its lowest levels for the past decade. With all the economic, financial, and socio-political issues that haunt the US, many people thought that it would be unlikely for the dollar to climb up the ranks again. During the first quarter of this year, many forex investors were caught by surprise by the 200 pip changes between the US dollar and the Euro. They were even more surprised when they found out that the US dollar suddenly started to settle along the mean. Over the past few months, its value has safely danced on smaller pip changes.

Many forex blogs predicted that this apparent stability might again return to its volatile state with the surging oil prices and price hikes. Indeed, these factors have affected the US dollar in the past quarter but it did not result to significant pip movements. This led many speculators to think that there might be calmer times ahead for the US dollar.

In the forex world, nothing is constant. Changes happen every minute. Any forex blog will tell you that anything can happen to the US dollar between now and the next 5 minutes. If you are new to the forex market, it indeed helps to start trading using currency pairs that involve the dollar. This will allow you to learn more about the volatilities of the market as this currency surely attracts lots of changes. - 23218

Strategies For Buying Stocks

By Mike Swanson

We all know the market goes up and the market goes down. Thousands of people will give you advice on what their favorite stock is. But there are no magic answers as to which stocks will make you money, and which won't. When you are looking at investing in stocks here are three theoretical terms that might give you something to think about.

DEAD CAT BOUNCE: This is when a stock price increases after a long and sustained downward movement, but the effect is only temporary and the stock reverts to its down ward trend. In many cases the increased price causes investors to buy again and then lose when the price drops again.

Why this is important for stock trading: No one can really predict when a market or stock recovery will happen. It can however provide an opportunity for investors to buy or sell quickly to take advantage of the temporary price increase.

THE BELLWETHER STOCK: This is a market indicating stock, one that predicts the direction of the market.

Why is this important? These sorts of stocks usually have a history of correctly indicating which way the market is going to go. They on themselves may not be attractive in terms of gains to be made, but will be useful to watch to get a general feel for the market sentiment.

THE JANUARY EFFECT: this is pattern that is often seen at the beginning of the calendar year when markets traditionally rise. Often the rise starts in the last few days of December and strengthens through January. Sometimes this is due to tax implications and psychological influences of the investor.

Why is this important? It has been shown in investigations that the January effect is real. However in recent years it has become more difficult to take advantage of. So it may be useful to watch for, but it is unlikely to be a reliable way to make money. - 23218

Starting Right With Your Penny Stock List

By Malcolm Torren

The stock market is making penny stock shares more and more available to those who want to invest. These stocks are usually cheap. Sometimes stock brokers sell them even cheaper by cents. The downside of it is that there are relatively few shareholders who frequent this slot. This concern is mostly attributed to the higher risk it bears because of its lack of relevant and useful information. The penny stock list is like your information directory and manual that should help you choosing the better stock to bid.

Having adequate information is essential when investing in stocks. When you have this, you will have a better understanding of the nature of the shares as well as its price. With small caps, it's different. There is less information and sometimes none at all. Most often prices are not accurately stated. Hence there is that great risk of manipulation. If small cap company info and share price is not found in your penny stock list, then don't invest on that stock.

Any stock market tips would advice you to know much about what you're investing on. Then follow up questions come in like why you must invest, how you should cash in, and most importantly when. It's difficult to make decisions if your knowledge about a product is not complete. Here's why:

- Lack of info can lead to falsified claims of persuasive track record in penny shares investments. These may occur in internet spamming, anomalous phone calls, and even professional looking websites. Your next best move is to read thoroughly. Sometimes you even have to read between the lines.

- Inadequate info can lead one to believe in media hype. Some penny stock scams would do this by the so called subliminal advertising. They channel their campaign for stock buying discretely by brief mention of the subject. It somewhat like plugging a new product without giving exact names and details. When this happens, and usually they are convincing enough, check the penny stock list if it's there. Of course, that's assuming you are using a reliable source of stock info.

- Inadequate information can lead you to believe fake success stories. Success depends on how much you are willing to work for it. The reason a company succeed is not because of penny shares alone. Maybe it helped so to some extent the myth is true. But mainly its success is attributed to its solid fundamentals and hard work. Don't fall into this trap. Again check your penny stock list.

Always check with your penny stock list if the small cap company is stable. That means you have to conduct your own research on its operations, fundamentals, and business history. Some of these companies are young and just starting up. The more it becomes difficult to check on its reliability.

Almost all of the small cap investments today are also pegged on high technology stocks. Examples of these are biotech companies, telecommunications, and the internet sectors. Some penny stock list available have these categories. Technology nowadays can be a pretty good investment especially if its mother corporation is reputable in the stock market. You may want to check on them as well. - 23218
